Al Mazar Al Jadeeda municipality areas are still without sewage systems and Treatment plants. Many roads need maintenance. Al Mazar is an agricultural area; planted with olive and fruit trees. Al Mazar produces about 500 tons of olives every year. The presence of the Prophet David’s tomb also creates opportunities for tourism. Al Mazar Al Jadeeda municipality consists of six administrative areas: Al Mazar Al Shamali (the center), Inbeh, Deir Yousouf, Jouhfeiyeh, Irhaba and Zoubyea. It is located in the Irbid Governorate of northwestern Jordan, 15 km south-west of Irbid. The region is a range of high series mountains that reach a height of approximately 780 meters above sea level. The main basic feature of the region is that it is surrounded by many forests, which extend over hundreds of kilometers. The forests have many trees such as oaks, pistacia and pine. Also the region relies on basic agricultural crops: wheat, barley, and also some fruit trees such as peaches, apricots, almonds, etc. The olive tree is one of the most important products in the region in addition to grapes.
